Our commitment to responsible and experiential tourism

1) Introduction and company identity:

Autre Tunisie is an agency specialized in responsible and experiential tourism in Tunisia. Through its activities, the company highlights the natural, cultural, and human heritage of the country, while ensuring to limit the negative impacts of tourism on the environment and local communities.

This Sustainability Policy reflects a real and progressive commitment, resulting from internal work carried out by the Autre Tunisie team to identify concrete, measurable objectives adapted to the reality of the company. It constitutes a reference framework for all our employees, partners, and stakeholders.

2) Policy objectives:

This policy aims to:

  • Reduce the environmental impact of Autre Tunisie's activities;
  • Promote responsible tourism that respects local populations and natural resources;
  • Support local economic development;
  • Ensure ethical, transparent practices that comply with current regulations;
  • Raise awareness among clients, partners, and employees about sustainable development principles.

3) Scope of application

This policy applies to:

  • All Autre Tunisie employees;
  • Partners, suppliers, and service providers involved in the company's value chain.

It does not apply to individuals or entities with no contractual or operational link to the agency.

The implementation and monitoring of this policy are coordinated by the Sustainable Development Coordinator, under the supervision of management.

4) Governance, compliance, and ethics

Autre Tunisie commits to:

  • Comply with all local, national, and international regulations regarding human rights, labor, environment, and child protection;
  • Apply a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, discrimination, forced labor, and any violation of fundamental rights;
  • Follow an internal code of ethics shared with employees and partners.

This policy is regularly monitored to assess progress and identify areas for continuous improvement.

5) Internal management: social and human rights

Autre Tunisie commits to:

  • Provide a healthy, safe, and respectful working environment;
  • Promote equal opportunities and non-discrimination;
  • Develop employee skills, particularly on sustainable tourism topics;
  • Encourage active staff participation in the company's sustainability actions.

6) Environmental management of operations

a. Offices and internal operations

Autre Tunisie implements concrete actions to reduce its environmental footprint:

  • Use of energy-efficient equipment;
  • Reduction of water and electricity consumption;
  • Raising staff awareness of eco-friendly practices;
  • Limiting business travel through teleworking when possible.

Office suppliers are selected primarily based on environmental and social criteria.

b. Carbon reduction and compensation

The company progressively measures its carbon footprint related to travel and energy consumption, with the objectives of:

  • Reducing avoidable emissions;
  • Compensating for remaining emissions through appropriate mechanisms.

7) Supplier and partner policy

Autre Tunisie favors partners who:

  • Are locally based or managed by local stakeholders;
  • Respect fair working conditions;
  • Share common values regarding sustainability;
  • Hold recognized certifications (GSTC, ISO, B Corp, etc.) when possible.

Suppliers are encouraged to adhere to a Code of conduct including respect for human rights, environmental protection, and the fight against corruption.

In organizing trips, Autre Tunisie commits to:

  • Favor the least polluting modes of transport;
  • Limit flights when alternatives exist;
  • Use vehicles adapted to the size of the groups;
  • Collaborate with service providers trained in eco-driving.

Unavoidable emissions are measured and compensated, with transparent information provided to clients.

9) Accommodation, activities, and excursions

Autre Tunisie selects accommodations and service providers who:

  • Respect the environment and local cultural identity;
  • Promote local employment;
  • Limit their consumption of natural resources.

The excursions offered:

  • Respect local customs and animal welfare;
  • Do not harm populations or the environment;
  • Generate positive economic impacts for local communities.

10) Local guides and representatives

Local guides and representatives play a key role in transmitting sustainability values. Autre Tunisie commits to:

  • Employ qualified local guides;
  • Offer them fair working conditions;
  • Train them regularly on sustainability issues and child protection in tourism.

11) Responsible communication and customer relations

Autre Tunisie adopts a communication that is:
