Nomadic Walk Across the Grand Erg Oriental
Saharan immersion between dunes, silence, and stars On the morning of departure in Douz, you will meet those who will share your adventure: your Saharan guide, the camel drivers, the cook, and the dromedaries carrying the bivouac… A team of passionate people deeply rooted in this land of sand and wind, ready to guide you through the vastness of the Sahara. The trek begins in the heart of the Grand Erg Oriental, a desert of dunes in shades of ochre, copper, and gold. Each day, your walk will take you deeper into the intimacy of the desert: from Limezil to Bir El Hadj, from Erg Zmilet to Heguif Elboum, until the shining oasis of Ksar Ghilane, where the orange sands blaze at sunset. In this world without fixed landmarks, silence becomes a guide. Step by step, you enter another temporality — that of the desert — where your heartbeat aligns with the slow rhythm of the caravan. During the day, your steps may cross traces of fennecs, jerboas, or some hardy tufts of Saharan grass — fragile witnesses of life in this mineral universe. At nightfall, the bivouac is set up under the stars, flames dance around the fire, nomadic stories mingle with the scent of tea, and laughter bursts out in the cool night. Above you, the sky reveals its full splendor, infinite, dotted with stars shining boldly. This five-day desert journey is much more than a hike: it is an inner journey, a return to the essentials, an experience that leaves a mark.

Ksar Ghilane, Between Spring and Sand – Return to Djerba
The last morning in the desert takes you to one of its most iconic gems: the oasis of Ksar Ghilane, a green haven nestled among the fiery dunes. On the way, you will stop at the Roman Fort of Tisavar, an ancient sentinel overlooking the Saharan horizon — a silent relic of another time. Upon arrival at the oasis, the warm, sulfurous water of the natural spring awaits you. You can immerse your hands, feet — or your whole body — for a moment of relaxation in this open-air natural pool with soothing properties. For the curious or adventurous, optional activities are offered (at extra cost): → Quad biking through the rolling dunes, → Horseback or camel excursions to the far edges of the oasis, → Or simply strolling among the palm trees, tents, and memories. After a lunch under the palms, it will be time to gently leave the desert. On board 4x4 vehicles, you will cross again the reg and rocky tracks until you reach the sea and the island of Djerba. In the evening, you will settle into your hotel on a half-board basis on the island, for one last night under the Mediterranean sky… sand still in your shoes, and the desert deeply rooted in your heart.
